Last-Minute Science Preparation Guide: Expert Tips For CBSE Class 10 Board Exams | AI

With CBSE Class 10 board examinations set to commence on February 15, 2025, students are entering the crucial final phase of preparation. To help students maximise their performance in science, experts have shared strategic approaches for tackling physics, chemistry, and biology effectively.

Arlene Gonsalves, a PGT Chemistry Teacher at Gopi Birla Memorial School, stresses the value of methodical preparation. “Success in science requires more than memorisation—it demands conceptual clarity and strategic studying,” she explains to FPJ.

Physics

Gonsalves suggests segmenting ideas into digestible portions for physics, which frequently terrifies students due to its intricate formulas and numerical challenges. “To tackle this, students should break down concepts into small, manageable steps and use direct application methods. Creating personalised cheat sheets and placing them on the study table can help reinforce concepts regularly,” she advises.

Chemistry

Simplified methods can be used to master chemistry, which is sometimes thought of as difficult because of its complex equations and practical applications. “Simplified using cheat codes, small diagrams, and regular practice. Consistently revisiting concepts enhances memorisation and ensures clarity,” suggests Gonsalves. She stresses that keeping chemical equations and reactions clear requires constant review.

Biology

Gonsalves warns about frequent pitfalls in biology. “Biology, though considered relatively easy, can be tricky when it comes to diagrams, labelling, correct biological spellings, and applications. Students should focus on accurate spelling and understanding processes rather than memorising blindly,” she notes. She notes, for instance, that we breathe in air, not just oxygen—such nuances, if overlooked, can lead to losing marks.

Clear instructions for answer presentation and grading methods have been supplied by the CBSE board. To gain confidence, students are encouraged to:

Start with questions they are comfortable with.
Make sure your responses are tidy, well-structured, and spaced appropriately.
Set aside time-based on mark weighting.
Pay attention to how steps in numerical problems are presented clearly.

As the exams approach, Gonsalves highlights the importance of strategic planning as opposed to last-minute cramming. “In these final days, focus on consolidating existing knowledge rather than tackling new topics,” she suggests. “Regular mock tests under timed conditions, combined with adequate rest, will help maintain peak performance.”

Exams are scheduled through March 18, 2025, and students are urged to keep a balanced approach. The secret to success is to combine good answer-writing strategies with in-depth preparation while keeping a composed and concentrated attitude.
