Kolkata: Former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Dilip Ghosh who is known for his controversial remarks, on Friday loses his temper while people especially women agitated in front of him at his former constituency Kharagpur and said ‘TMC’s dogs are barking as they are happy with Rs. 500 given under Lakshmir Bhandar scheme’.
The incident took place at ward No. 6 of Kharagpur where Ghosh was the former MP. When Ghosh arrived to inaugurate a newly constructed concrete road, the women started protesting against Ghosh asking him the reason for his absence during his tenure as MP, following which he was heard giving threats even to the protesting women.
“After our councilor Pradip Sarkar has built the new road you visited this place. Where were you during your tenure? We didn’t see you here during your tenure,” said the protesting women.
Notably, the protesting women also threw the boards where Dilip Ghosh’s name was mentioned.
“I have given money for this work. No one’s father has given the money. You can go and ask the local TMC councillor Pradip Sarkar,” said Ghosh initially when the women shouted and asked him not to take anyone’s father’s name.
“If needed I will bring up your fourteen generation’s names,” replied the former BJP MP.
However, the protest intensified as the women started protesting surrounding Ghosh’s car.
“Don’t scream or else I will choke you. I as a MP have given money for this work from my MPlad fund,” further mentioned Ghosh.
Police from Kharagpur town had to reach the spot and amid protest Ghosh left the scene.
Local Trinamool Congress (TMC) councillor Pradip Sarkar slammed Ghosh for his behaviour.
