Electric vehicle (EV) adoption has accelerated in India, and is no longer limited to just Tier 1 cities. Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities are also rapidly joining the race. According to the Heavy Industries Ministry report, the charging network in these areas recorded a 96% growth in FY2024, and 59% of the country’s fast charging points are located in these cities.
