Gukesh Dommaraju or simply Gukesh won the World Chess Championship in Singapore. In the process, Gukesh became the youngest ever world chess champion at the age of 18.

Gukesh’s Triumph

This is much before Vishanathan Anand, the Indian chess stalwart, who attained this feat in 2000, at the age of 30/31.

Gukesh fought and defeated his Chinese Rival Ding Liren to claim the title.

Congratulatory comments have poured in from all sides for the teenage world champion.

Anand Mahindra Reacts

Anand Mahindra, the head of the Tech-to-car Mahindra group, could not be left behind. Mahindra, after all is one of the most jubilant advocates and an ardent fan of the game of chess, with some personal expertise in the game of minds.

Mahindra expressed euphoria online. He took to X account, where the billionaire usually expresses his opinion to share his thoughts. Mahindra said, “The symbolism and the meaning of this moment for all Indians is not to be spoken about—it is only to be imagined.”

An ecstatic Mahindar further added, “CHAK DE INDIAAAAAAAAAA!”

Along with the text, Mahindra also added a video clipping of Gukesh’s reactions after his historic triumph.

In another post on the same matter, Mahindra shared another clipping of Gukesh dancing with what appears to be his family members. Mahindra shared a message with that post, in which he added, “All of India is dancing with you at this very moment @DGukesh!

In one of the media meetings before the match, Gukesh had expressed his thoughts on playing for India. He said, “Gukesh D: It’s an honour and privilege for me to play for India in any kind of event, especially an event like the Olympiad or World Championship. It’s such a huge event to represent my country and carry the hopes of Indians; it’s an honour for me. I take it very seriously.”
