The event commenced with a special welcome address by Alok Ranjan Tiwari. Welcoming the Guests of Honor and the audience with enthusiasm Alok Ranjan Tiwari said, “We are meeting here to actually think about how you will tell the story of the BFSI sector. Another factor that can be explored this evening is the impact of BFSI on the GDP of the nation. We have launched a new book, ‘The Indian BFSI Story,’ to take the BFSI sector to new heights that our guests of honors will be inaugurating. ”
Alok Ranjan Tiwari said, “Eternal Corporate Media have always aimed to highlight divergences and positive evolutions in the industry, which we intend to carry forward.” The showstopper at the conclave was the launch of the coffee-table book, ‘The Indian BFSI Story,’ which was unveiled by the guest of honours and speakers of the BFSI India Leadership Conclave 2024.
Chief Guest, Sandip Patel, said, “I believe that technology in itself is not relevant. The way it changes industries and enables us to make better decisions that’s where it becomes relevant. I grew up in the Insurance industry, and we are now seeing the proliferation of data sets. These data sets were always there, and they tend to lose relevance within nanoseconds after they are created. We are seeing the same proliferation of artificial intelligence in insurance and finance, and it is leading the change here as well.”
The first panel discussed, “Navigating The Next Wave: The Future Of The Indian BFSI Sector” with the panellists like Sundararaman Ramamurthy, MD and CEO, BSE Limited and Shobhit Mathur, Co-Founder Angel One Wealth Limited, Shachindra Nath, Vice Chairman and MD of UGRO Capital Limited, and Alok Rungta, CEO of Future Generali India Life Insurance Co. Ltd. was also the limelight of the event. The high-profile panel speakers discussed thorough and genial insights on technology and growth in BFSI. Managing Director, Resurgent India Limited, Jyoti Prakash Gadia, was moderator of this panel discussion. The conversation between Shailesh Haribhakti, and Sandip Patel, at the event later on enlightened the attendees about the Convergence of AI.
Guest of Honour, Mr Shailesh Haribhakti, shared, “Blockchain technology can revolutionize microfinance for rural communities. Decentralized platforms can provide low-cost, transparent loans to farmers while allowing investors to directly fund projects and smart projects.”
Karan Bhagat, also a Guest of Honor at the event said, “The BFSI sector is going to continue to grow and I think we will just have to get our own action points right. People will be important, but most importantly our ability to capture the right amount of data and give it in the hands of consumers to be able to make the right decision will be the one barometer that will allow us to scale.”
The BFSI India Leadership Conclave 2024 also included a second panel discussion on the “Mutual Fund Industry: ‘Fueling The INR100 Trillion AUM Dream.” The panellists for this discussion included Navneet Munot, MD and CEO of HDFC Mutual Fund, D.P. Singh, Deputy MD and Joint CEO of SBI Mutual Fund, Saurabh Nanavati, CEO of Invesco Asset Management Co. Ltd., and Swarup Mohanty, Vice Chairman and CEO of Mirae Asset Mutual Fund. Avanne Dubash, the Consultant Anchor at ET NOW, was the moderator of this panel discussion.
At the conclave, Guest of Honour Umesh Revankar shared, “I would like to highlight the NBFC industry because the BFSI industry is very broad. NBFC is typical to India and very significant to the Indian economy. How they reach out to the credit needs of people and enterprises can make a difference. The next step is whether NBFCs can reach customers through AI or digital mode. I feel we need a lot of different tools to reach them. At the same time regulators have to have some kind of control to contain the loan for personal consumption. The NBFC industry has to become responsible lenders and educate customers on the implications of borrowing and debt trap.”
