Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) conducted raids on properties linked to Rajesh Parmar, a suspended assistant revenue officer of the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC), in the early morning of Friday.

Two teams were constituted which executed search operations at Parmar’s residence in Bijalpur and his relatives’ residence in the Kanadiya area. During the search, the team unearthed documents, jewellery, bank account details and cash, with further evaluations of bank accounts, lockers and valuables underway.

Rajesh Parmar was recently suspended by the IMC Commissioner over allegations of irregularities and is accused of amassing assets disproportionate to his known income.

Parmar was originally hired as a worker in the corporation from the post of Beldar and he advanced to the position of Assistant Revenue Officer during his tenure. During government service, he purchased residential buildings and plots in his and family members’ names.

Case registered

After investigating the complaint against Rajesh Parmar of acquiring disproportionate assets worth crores of rupees through corruption by EOW, the allegations in the complaint were found to be prima facie correct and a case has been registered against Parmar under sections 7(c), 13(1) (b), and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and further investigation is underway.

Investigations revealed that he and his family acquired multiple properties, including:

A two-story house in Bijalpur (2,600 sq ft built-up area)

A flat in Sanchar Nagar

A plot in Sampat Green (1,600 sq ft)

 A flat in Shreeji Valley

A plot in Uday Nagar, Pipliyahana

A flat in Khushboo Villa

A flat in Satellite Valley

EOW team comprises of DSPs and inspectors

The EOW team comprised of DSPs Nandini Sharma, Madhur Veena Gaur, Pawan Singhal, and Inspectors Amod Singh Rathore, Kailashchandra Patidar, Yogendra Singh Sisodia, Rajesh Sahu, Manisha Sharma and Sanjay Mishra, simultaneously executed search operations and the searches yielded documents, jewellery, bank account details, and cash, with further evaluations of bank accounts, lockers, and valuables ongoing.
