Director Sanoj Mishra, who sold garlands and viral girl Monalisa in her film, has been arrested by the Delhi Police in a rape case at the Prayagraj Mahakumbh Mela. The Delhi High Court has rejected his bail plea. This action was taken by the Prophet Karim Police Station. Sanoj Mishra is accused of sexually abusing a young woman from Jhansi by promising to work in films and then threatening her to remain silent.

The victim alleges that Sanoj Mishra forced her to abortion thrice. In February 2025, Sanoj left him and threatened to make his pornographic photos and videos viral on social media. According to the victim, in 2020, she met Sanoj Mishra through ticket and Instagram. She was living in Jhansi at that time. After talking for a while, on 17 June 2021, Sanoj called him and told him that he had reached Jhansi railway station. Due to social pressure, the victim refused to meet her. But Sanoj threatened to commit suicide. She went to meet her in fear. The next day on 18 June 2021, Sanoj again called him to the railway station and threatened to commit suicide and from there took him to a resort. Where he raped her by feeding her intoxicating substance.

The victim has said in her FIR that Sanoj had made her objectionable pictures and videos and threatened to make her public on protest. After this, Sanoj called her at different places several times and raped her. He implicated him in his trap by promising to work in films. With this hope, the victim went to Mumbai and started living with Sanoj. Sanoj continued to exploit her there and also assaulted her several times. The victim alleges that Sanoj forced her to abortion thrice. In February 2025, Sanoj left him and threatened to make his pornographic photos and videos viral on social media.
Case filed against Sanoj Mishra
Delhi Police has registered a case against Sanoj Mishra on the victim’s complaint. He was arrested after investigation. Sanoj approached the Delhi High Court for bail. But the court rejected his application. The police then took him into custody. The matter came into the limelight when Sanoj Mishra’s name was related to the viral girl Monalisa of Mahakumbh Mela. Which he claimed to cast in his film ‘The Manipur Diary’. The police is now investigating the case.
