Mumbai: A man, enraged over his wife leaving home and not returning, brutally assaulted his four-year-old daughter before fleeing the scene. The child suffered serious injuries to her head and nose and is currently undergoing treatment at KEM Hospital. Bhoiwada police have registered a case against the accused father and have begun an investigation.
According to the FIR, the 40-year-old mother of the injured child had been living in Ambernath for the past 15 years. She remarried a man named Gorakh, with whom she has two children—a five-year-old son and a four-year-old daughter. They lived together in Dadar. However, the woman had four children from her first marriage, whom she sent to a hostel after her husband’s death.
Everything was going smoothly until she discovered that Gorakh had married another woman. This led to disputes between them, and deeply hurt by the betrayal, she left the house. Gorakh repeatedly urged her to return, but she refused.
On March 27, her daughter suddenly went missing. She immediately reported the matter to Bhoiwada police, who registered a missing complaint and started searching. While the search was ongoing, the police received information from KEM Hospital about an injured child admitted there.
Upon contacting the mother, the police informed her that her missing daughter had been found and was receiving treatment at KEM Hospital. When the mother asked the child about her injuries, she revealed that her father had beaten her.
Following the mother’s statement, Bhoiwada police registered a case against the father under the Indian Penal Code and the Juvenile Justice Act. Efforts are underway to locate and arrest the accused.
