Engineering students are being cheated on the pretext of jobs, due to which the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has issued an alert to engineering colleges. AICTE has sent a letter to engineering universities and colleges and informed about the matter.

According to AICTE, fraudsters are cheating students by sending fake job offer letters. These thugs are demanding money from students by sending fake offer letters. AICTE said that fraudsters are misusing the names of AICTE and Ministry of Education. They send fake emails to the students and ask for their biodata and then send fake offer letters.

The matter was revealed after the students’ complaint, after which AICTE has directed the principals of all colleges to conduct awareness campaign among the students. Colleges have been asked to ensure that students are advised to check the truth of job related emails. If there is any such suspicious activity, AICTE should be informed immediately. Apart from this, colleges should also put information about this fraud on the notice board. If there is a fraud with the students, it should be reported under cybercrime.
