New Delhi: The Punjab unit of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested the dangerous drug mafia Akshay Kumar Chavda. Narcotics Control Bureau in Chandigarh has registered a case against him. The accused fled Divpur, from where the ED caught him and brought him to Chandigarh.
The accused was smuggling heroin through tomato and pomegranate bud juice. He bought several assets from the money earned from this. The ED is also investigating whether its drug syndicate was also involved in money laundering.
This has been clearly revealed in the ongoing investigation. How did he loot an amount of Rs 150 crore? Along with this, his narco conspiracy is also being investigated.
The ED in its investigation found that he was running a hawala racket and was involved in money laundering. He further explained that he had called two goons from Afghanistan to make heroin, through whom he was preparing heroin.
It is noteworthy that when heroin (opium) is rubbed with water, a red colored fluid comes out which is like tomato or pomegranate juice. Therefore it can be mixed with tomato or pomegranate bud juice. Akshay Kumar was doing such a business, he had collected crores of rupees. The heat of the hawala case reached Dubai.
