A terrorist has been killed in an encounter between security forces and militants in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. Security forces are expected to hide other terrorists in the area, due to which the search operation continues. Despite hard geographical conditions and bad weather, the army and police are jointly campaigning.

Joint search operation in the forests of Chatru
The 16th core of the Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police started a joint search operation on 9 April in the Chatu area of Kishtwar. The operation was carried out on the basis of the information of the terrorists being hidden in the forests. On the same day, there was an encounter between security forces and militants in the evening, in which a terrorist was killed.
The army’s white night core informed on social media that during the firing, the security forces piled up a terrorist while controlling the situation. Despite being bad weather and inaccessible areas, the campaign is still going on.
Encounter also took place in Jofar-Marta Strip
On Wednesday, security forces started intensive search operations in Jofar-Marta Patti of Udhampur district and Naidgam-Chaatru area of Kishtwar district. According to officials, two to three terrorists are expected to hide in these areas. During the encounter, the security forces laid siege to the area overnight and carried forward the operation.
SSP Amod Ashok Nagpure said that on Wednesday, the Jofar-Marta strip fired for two hours. This area is challenging for operation due to high mountains, rivers and dense forests.
The scope of terrorists’ activities increased in the past
On March 24, security forces started operations against terrorists in Sanyal area of Kathua district, after which three encounters have taken place so far. Two terrorists were killed in an encounter on 27 March. Since then, the police and security forces are constantly monitoring every activity of these terrorists.
