Electricity and internet will remain closed in this country: Russia is currently embroiled in war. But the Russian government is bringing a ministry which has not been created in any country till date. It seems that Russia is leaving no stone unturned to tackle the country’s falling birth rate.

Russia is stepping up efforts to halt its population decline, with ideas ranging from encouraging sex in the workplace to giving people financial incentives to go on first dates. According to The Mirror, Russian officials are coming up with several proposals aimed at increasing the country’s population. One suggestion includes encouraging citizens to turn off the internet and lights at home between 10 pm and 2 am to create an “interruption-free” environment to enhance intimacy between couples.

The government will bear the cost of this

In another proposal, couples will get up to 5,000 rubles (Rs 4,302) from the government for their first date. One recommendation suggested that newlyweds’ wedding night expenses should be covered by the state, and hotel expenses should be capped at 26,300 rubles (Rs 22,632) to increase the chances of pregnancy.

Compensation to mothers for household work

Other proposals are more specific, such as compensating stay-at-home mothers for household work and including this work in their pensions. In addition to these national strategies, some regions are also taking action. Young women aged 18 to 23 in Khabarovsk are offered £900 (Rs 98,029) to have a child. Whereas in Chelyabinsk, the reward for the first child is £8,500 (Rs 9.26 lakh).

sex at work

Earlier, regional Health Minister Dr. Yevgeny Shestopalov called on Russians to include work and sex in their lives. During which it was suggested to keep the children during lunch and coffee breaks. Shestopalov was quoted by The Mirror as saying that the ‘sex at work’ plan in his life “You can reproduce even during breaks, because life moves very fast.”
