Electricity Bill Rules: Consumers in the city will soon be freed from the hassle of wrong electricity bills and its readings. Survey work is going on in full swing for installing smart meters with new technology. 2900 meters have been installed in the city. At many places, the survey team is also facing doubts from the people. Generally consumers complain that their electricity bills are incorrect.
Meter readers are also accused of taking arbitrary figures. With the installation of smart meters, all these problems will end. Chief Engineer Dheeraj Sinha said that old meters will be removed and new meters will be installed. No extra charge will be taken for these.
Bill will be automatically generated on the last date of every month
Modem has been installed in the smart meter. Through which online bill for the electricity consumed on the last day of the month will be generated and sent to the consumer’s mobile number. There will be no possibility of getting wrong bill. There are 3.64 lakh consumers in the city, out of which 1.12 lakh consumers already have smart meters installed. Electronic meters will be removed and smart meters will be installed.
Smart meters are also being installed in rural areas. Chief Engineer Zone 2 Sunil Kumar Gupta said that the work of installing smart meters is going on in Sardhana Town.
Smart meters will be installed on all feeders to prevent electricity theft.
There are 410 feeders at 51 power substations in the city. From where electricity is supplied to different localities and areas. Smart meters have been installed on all feeders. Through this the load is being checked every hour. In areas where line loss is high, these smart meters will prove to be effective in estimating electricity consumption and recovering the electricity bill accordingly. Not only this, they are also being installed on distribution transformers. So far 183 meters have been installed.
