Mathura: An unusual incident has come to light from Civil Line area of ​​Mathura. A 65-year-old woman Sona, a resident of Sujavali village of Chhata tehsil, climbed a tree and started threatening to commit suicide. The elderly woman has alleged Special Judicial Magistrate Upper Division Agra Canal, Atul Kumar Singh Chauhan of demanding a bribe of Rs 50 thousand to deliver justice. A video from the spot has gone viral, in which fire brigade rescued the woman and brought her down after two hours.

Reportedly, the matter is an 11 year-old dispute regarding the irrigation department’s drain. The case is pending in the irrigation department’s court. The other party had filed a case claiming that there was a government irrigation drain in the woman’s field but till date no decision has been taken on it.

Reportedly, the irrigation department officials kept suppressing the matter. When the news of the old woman climbing the tree was informed to the fire department. The fire department and the police reached the spot, the woman was rescued and brought down from the tree after two hours.

The elderly woman has alleged that the magistrate gave her date after date and the hearing did not take place on time.

She also said that, she had spent a lot of money for traveling. On the other side, the canal department magistrate Atul Kumar Singh Chauhan has said that the woman has done such a thing in the past as well.

Meanwhile, another farmer had filed a case in the court in 2015 about the presence of a government irrigation canal in the woman’s field.
