Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Neighbours killed a 70-year-old man with sword and wooden sticks over an old enmity on Monday. The incident took place under Betma police station limits.

The accused attacked the elderly man with swords and wooden sticks, resulting in fatal injuries. His son, brother and a relative who tried to intervene were also injured in the attack.

The deceased was identified as Gabbulal, son of Babulal. Two days prior to the incident, a dispute had erupted between Gabbulal and his neighbours Mahendra and Nandram regarding construction near the pathway in Rolay village.

Police arrested four accused

However, Betma police station in-charge Meena Karnawat said that the accused attacked the victim over an old enmity and the police had arrested four accused.

The kin of the deceased said that Mahendra and Nandram, along with their relatives, attacked Gabbulal with swords and wooden sticks, causing serious injuries. He was rushed to the MY hospital for treatment where he succumbed on Monday.

Youth stabbed by two over old enmity

A 20-year-old youth was stabbed by two individuals over an old enmity in Pardeshipura police station area.

According to the police, one Nitin Kushwah, a resident of Lalgali Koli Mohalla, lodged a complaint stating that Bhappa and his friend abused him over an old dispute and when he objected to it, Bhaappa’s friend started assaulting him and Bhappa took out a knife from his pocket and stabbed him on back, resulting in his injuries.

He was rushed to the hospital where he was undergoing treatment.

The police registered a case against the accused under sections 118(1), 115(2), 296, 351(3), 3(5) of the BNS and further investigation is underway.
