There is still suspense regarding the post of CM of Maharashtra. On one hand, there is discussion that Eknath Shinde has asked for 9 important departments like Home, Urban and Deputy Chief Minister. On the other hand, CM Shinde is unwell. Even after returning from his hometown yesterday, he made it clear that the decision taken by PM Modi and Amit Shah will be accepted. But now the discussion is also that there has been a demand for DCM post for Eknath Shinde’s son when Shrikant Shinde himself said how much truth is there in this.

Shinde is unwell

All the meetings of Maharashtra’s acting CM Eknath Shinde have been canceled today. Some MLAs were going to meet Eknath Shinde at his house today. Due to doctors’ advice of rest, all meetings have been canceled today. It is being told that Shinde is not well.

Shinde’s son will become CM?

In such a situation, speculations are being made that if Eknath Shinde does not become the Chief Minister and the CM face is from BJP, then his son Shrikant Shinde from Shiv Sena will become the Deputy CM. However, now MP Shrikant Shinde has denied this. Shrikant Shinde has tweeted in Marathi, in which he has called this news baseless.

He tweeted that the swearing-in ceremony of the Grand Alliance government has been slightly delayed and at present there are many discussions and rumors regarding it. Caretaker CM Eknath Shinde went to his hometown for two days and took rest due to ill health. Therefore the rumor was spread. For the last two days, this news is being given with a question mark whether I will become the Deputy Chief Minister or not? He further said that there is no truth in this and all the news going on about my post of Deputy Chief Minister is baseless.

I am not in the race for ministerial post – Shrikant Shinde

He further said that after the Lok Sabha elections, I got a chance to become a minister in the central government. But still, thinking of working for the party organization, I rejected the ministerial post. I have no desire for a position in power. Let me clarify once again that I am not in the race for any ministerial post in the state.

Will Devendra Fadnavis become CM?

According to news agency PTI, BJP sources said that Devendra Fadnavis, who has been Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister twice in the Eknath Shinde-led government, is the frontrunner for the post of Chief Minister. In the assembly elections held on November 20 in Maharashtra, the grand alliance of BJP, Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) retained power by winning 230 out of 288 seats.

BJP emerged as the largest party by winning 132 seats, while Shiv Sena got 57 seats and NCP 41 seats. But there is a delay in government formation because there is no consensus in the alliance on who will be the Chief Minister.
