‘Ek Family-Ek Identity’ scheme started in Uttar Pradesh: Now every family will get unique family ID

The Uttar Pradesh government has launched a new and revolutionary initiative-‘A Family-Ek Identity’ scheme, under which each family of the state will be given a 12-digit unique family ID. Through this ID, not only the identity of the family will be decided digitally, but the benefit of all the schemes of the government will also be available directly, transparent and convenient.

The purpose of this initiative is to understand the social and economic situation of every family, to link them to the current and future plans of the government. Now any family will not need separate documents, verification or survey for a government scheme – everything will be done through a unique family ID.

Family ID: New digital identity card like Aadhaar

This family ID will be a unique identity number like Aadhaar card, but it will cover the entire family instead of the person. As soon as a family records this number on the government portal, the complete information of all the members of that family will come in the system – name, age, gender, social status, planning benefit, etc.

This will make it easier to find out which schemes apply to that family, and which schemes can be found in future. This will act like a digital data bank, which will not only benefit the public, but will also help the administration to make decisions.

Government’s intention: Transparency and reach improvement

The aim of the UP government is to directly reach the benefit of government schemes to every needy through this scheme. This will remove the traditional problems of corruption and beneficiary selection to a great extent.

Ration card, Aadhaar card dependence will be less – Now everything will be possible with a family ID. Whether it is identity at the ration shop or eligibility check for employment scheme. This ID is going to be a strong pillar of digital identity in the future.

Data Collection: Complete information of every family on one click

Under the scheme, information of every family will be recorded on a central portal. This will make it possible to know how many families are there in a village or district, which schemes are taking advantage of and who is still deprived. With the help of this data, the government will be able to make the schemes more targeted and effective.

Also, this will help the data authorities take decisions immediately and in real time. How many people have to be added under a new scheme, it will be known in one click.

ID generation process intensifies: 5,000 families target daily

The work of creating family IDs in the districts has started on a war footing. Currently 1,500 family IDs are being created per day, and the government has targeted to increase it to 5,000 IDs per day. For this, 816 employees have been deployed in the district.

Employment servants and Panchayat Secretary have been given the responsibility of making family IDs from village to village. In this process, information related to every family is registered online, so that the family ID can be generated immediately.

Benefits you should know:

  • Government schemes will get direct benefit
  • Lack of complexity of documents
  • Eligibility check easy
  • No government scheme required repeated survey for any government scheme
  • Decision for administration is more accurate

How will your life change with family ID?

Now think-from the same number you will be able to know which schemes your family can get the benefit, are you eligible in a new scheme, and if you are deprived of any government facility then why? This is the simplest and effective form of digital empowerment, which will simplify the life of every common citizen.
