Ranchi/Bijapur: A campaign against Naxalites has been launched by Cobra Commandos of CRPF in Jharkhand. In this campaign, security forces killed eight Naxalites in Bokaro district. The slain Naxalites also include a dreaded Naxalite, on which a reward of one crore rupees was declared. The operation started in the forest area of Bokaro at 5:30 am and lasted for hours.
Local police said the operation was jointly conducted by Cobra Commandos and local police. In which a total of eight Naxalites were killed, one AK 47 rifle, three INSAS rifles, a self -loading rifle, eight indigenous guns and a pistol were seized from the operation site. The slain Naxalites include Prayag Manjhi alias Vivek, members of the Central Committee of Naxalite organization, Arvind Yadav, Zonal Committee members Sahebram Manjhi, Mahesh Manjhi, Ranju Manjhi etc. Among them, a reward of Rs 1 crore was declared on Vivek and Rs 25 lakh on Arvind Yadav. While Sahebram also had a reward of 10 lakhs.
Jharkhand DGP Anurag Gupta said that with this encounter, the entire squad of Naxalites has been eliminated from Chhotanagpur area here. At present, Naxalites are being eliminated from the entire Jharkhand state. At present, they are only active in the Chaibasa region. Adequate efforts are also being made by security forces to clean them. CRPF’s Cobra Battalion is known for special operations in the forests. It has also been deployed in campaigns against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. This year, 140 Naxalites have been killed in an anti -Naxal campaign in Chhattisgarh this year. A soldier of the Chhattisgarh Armed Forces was killed during an anti -Naxal campaign in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh on Monday. He died in the IED blast by Naxalites. Currently, a large -scale campaign is being carried out in Bijapur to search for Naxalites.
