The places where raids were conducted include major districts like Ranchi, Bokaro, Ramgarh. In particular, the deal is being investigated with fake documents of 103 acres of protected forest land in Tetulia area of Bokaro. Investigation of the role of companies and individuals
The ED is investigating the role of many companies and private individuals in the case. The investigating agency believes that money laundering may occur on a large scale in this scam. According to officials, some big names are expected to be revealed during this action, which can speed up the stir in political and administrative circles.
When and how the matter started?
The case was first registered at Sector-12 police station in Bokaro in 2024, when a case of suspected purchase of 103 acres of land came to light. The initial investigation was conducted by the CID of the Jharkhand Police, in which it was clear that the scam took place with the connivance of some personnel of the land mafia and some personnel of Bokaro Steel Limited (BSL).
Investigation also revealed that BSL did not duly transfer the land to the forest department, which opened the way to sell the protected land in private hands. After this, the Enforcement Directorate started an investigation into the money trail and money laundering of the scam.
