  • Officers are still waiting for the results of hundreds of other samples.

During the investigation, when the officials asked the hotel and the street vendors the reason, they said that the first idli solution was placed on cotton cloth, which was kept on the idli tray before cooking in steam. But now many hotels and vendors have started using plastic instead of cotton cloth.

According to health officials, when plastic is used for Idli cooking, the heat produces harmful chemicals from plastic, which are found in food. These chemicals can go to the body and cause serious diseases like cancer.

Government can take a big step

After this shocking news, Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao said that the government is now considering banning the use of plastic in cooking. This will help in protecting the health of the people and problems like adulteration of food will also be controlled.
