Ayurvedic expert Deeksha Bhavsar also shared a post on eating with hands. In which he said that according to Ayurveda, eating with hands is not only healthy but is also beneficial for your senses and digestion. In fact, Ayurveda says that each finger represents one of the five elements. In such a situation, when we eat food with our hands, we are making a gesture that activates these elements and balances the energy in our body. Additionally, when we touch our food with our fingers, we send a message to our brain that we are ready to eat, which prepares our stomach and other digestive organs for the digestion process.

According to science, eating food with hands improves digestion because hands contain some bacteria which are not harmful but protect the body from various harmful germs present in the environment. However, it is advisable to wash your hands thoroughly before eating.

Eating with our hands helps us be more mindful of what we eat, how much we eat, and how fast we eat, all of which are important for healthy digestion.
