Earthquake in Myanmar and Thailand, PM Modi expressed concern, India assured help

The horrific earthquake on Friday in Myanmar and Thailand has caused havoc in many areas. The intensity of this powerful earthquake was measured 7.7 and its effect was felt not only in these countries, but also till Northeast India and China. After this earthquake, the Government of India has expressed condolences and assured all possible help.

Prime Minister Modi offered condolences and assistance

Expressing concern over this natural disaster, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he is extremely concerned about the situation arising after the earthquake in Myanmar and Thailand. He said, “I pray for the safety and skill of all people. India is fully prepared to help on every front of needs.”

He also informed that the Government of India has instructed its officials to be vigilant and the Ministry of External Affairs has been directed to keep in constant touch with the governments of Myanmar and Thailand to expedite relief and rescue operations.

Earthquake center in Myanmar’s Sagiing area

According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the center of this powerful earthquake was about 16 km north-west from Sagiing city of Myanmar and recorded 10 km. At the same time, according to the German Research Center for Geochenses (GFZ), the center of earthquake was near Mandalay.

About 12 minutes after the earthquake, 6.4 magnitude aftershock was also felt. Its impact appeared not only in Myanmar, but also in cities like Bangkok, Youngon and NAPEDO, the capital of Thailand.

Damage in young and mandala, shock in India-China also felt

Light shocks were felt in NAPEDO and commercial center Youngon, the capital of Myanmar. Many buildings collapsed in Mandalay area and roads between Youngon-Mandala have been damaged. Some reports have reported that power supply and communication system has also been affected.

Mild tremors were also felt in Northeast India and some areas of China. However, there is no news of loss of life and property in India.

Under construction building collapsed in Bangkok, many fears of injuries

A multi -storey building under construction collapsed due to an earthquake in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. After the building collapsed in the viral video on social media, people were seen running around in the dust. Incidents of water falling from the swimming pool built on the top floor of tall buildings have also come to light. There are also reports of debris falling and traffic disrupted in some areas.
