Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Under the Digital India campaign, the e-office system was rolled out in all state government offices in the district on Monday.

The entire administrative work will now be totally paperless and new files will be created digitally, with notes written in the same format.

Collector Asheesh Singh, who was keen to implement this system in the district, informed that through e-office, there would be transparency in work and files would be disposed of speedily.  The status of any file would be known in real time, saving  unnecessary delays and time spent in paperwork.

Staff trained to work on e-office

In a meeting held here on Monday it was informed that preparations were going on for the past few months to implement the e-office system in the district. Officers and employees were given training to operate it. The technical infrastructure was also strengthened.

Collector Singh, who presided over the meeting, directed that now all new files should be submitted through e-office only. Submitting an offline file would be considered an administrative irregularity and action would be taken against the officers concerned, he said.

The collector said that offices which had all necessary requirements, software and internet connectivity were now ready to function digitally. All offices had been e-boarded.

Under the e-office system, facilities like movement of files, preparation of note sheets, approval, correspondence management and digital storage of documents have been started in the first phase. Later, other services will also be linked to the e-office system. The old files will be scanned and digitized.

Penalty imposed on Tehsildars

Collector Singh reviewed the progress of resolving cases registered under the Public Service Guarantee Act on Monday. During the review, instructions were given to impose a penalty on Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars who did not resolve the cases within the time limit.

Those on whom penalty was imposed include Tehsildar Malharganj Narayan Nanded, Tehsildar Bichauli Balveer Singh Rajput, Tehsildar Depalpur Lokesh Ahuja and Naib Tehsildar Khudail Dayaram Nigam.
