DY Patil Red defeated Income Tax by eight wickets in the final of the 19th DY Patil T20 Cup to emerge as the champion for the second successive year.
At the DY Patil Stadium on Wednesday night, Income Tax after opting to bat posted 175 for five in their 20 overs. Gaurav Jathar top-scored for Income Tax with 74 off 47 balls with 13 boundaries and a six. For DY Patil Red the best bowlers were Puneet Datey (2-38) and skipper Krunal Pandya (2-29).
In their response DY Patil Red chased down the target in 16 overs to finish on 181 for two. Angkrish Raghuvanshi (63 n.o.: 43b, 7×4, 1×6) and Priyam Garg (68: 35b, 7×4, 4×6) added 117 runs for the second wicket to help script this chase. In the end Aman Khan (42 n.o.: 15b, 1×4, 5×6) helped Raghuvanshi to seal the deal in 16 overs with eight wickets to spare.
Pandya was named the player of the tournament, while his teammate Garg was named player of the final.
