A Dr DY Patil College student recently encountered a horrifying experience at the Kasarwadi Railway Station in Pimpri-Chinchwad. He posted about it on Reddit and urged others to beware of travelling at night.
The student said he was travelling alone to Pune from Kasarwadi station at around 1am when he was harassed by a man who made unwanted sexual advances towards him.
“I was travelling alone to Pune at midnight around 1am, and the train was late at Kasarwadi station. Then a man sat beside me and started saying you look great and I want to have s*x with you. I was completely creeped out. I am a student at DY Patil College and I was like who to ask for help? There was no one available. The man started chasing me, and I had no option but to wait for the train outside the station,” he wrote.
“None of my friends were picking up calls either, fu*king sleeping idiots. Luckily, my roommate picked up the call and came to the station, staying with me until I boarded the train. Beware, people. I might never travel at night in Pune,” he added.
Meanwhile, Reddit users commented on his post and suggested he should have used pepper spray or informed the Railway Protection Force (RPF).
“Kasarwadi railway station is the worst. There aren’t many people there, and there isn’t even security or RPF,” commented one user.
Another user commented, “This happens to women on a daily basis. I can’t believe men are also not safe from other men… I hope you are fine, OP. Trust me, I know how you feel. Just carry some pepper spray, knife, or any other weapon you can. Always keep your location on and don’t let your phone die…”
