The shocking video showed a group of men opening the bottles and pouring the liquid, said to be alcohol, on the groom. These people allegedly replaced ‘Haldi’ and water significant to the celebration with alcoholic contents.

The video featured the groom seated on the ground as his friends showered different alcohol on him, during the Haldi ceremony. Instead of questioning the act, he vibed to the celebration. Netizens react

However, the recent Haldi ceremony footage has sparked outrage online after the groom’s friends bathed him with alcohol instead of adhering to traditional customs. Netizens have condemned the the viral video, which filmed the group of friends dousing the groom with liquor and turning what is meant to be a sacred pre-wedding ritual into a controversial spectacle.

While this is not the first celebration of its kind, there are several images on the internet showing the trend of showering beer on the groom during Haldi festivities.

Sharing the viral clip online, an X user condemned the act and called it a “Total Destruction of Pious Rituals of Indian Weddings”. The comments agreed to the user’s opinion.

“Marriage as an institution is crumbled now. Earlier they were considered as sacred events. These days it’s everything except sacred”, a comment read.

“Wats problem in this now? How is alcohol “unpious”? Even Shivji & other Gods enjoyed their “Madira”.

Then why should it be considered as something wrong? Live & let live”, others argued.
