While the Punekars often witness attacks with koytas (sickle) from time to time, the issue has now reached nearby places. In one such shocking incident, a video surfaced showing an attack at a petrol pump in Wathar village of Karad taluka in Satara district.

Two youths, who had come on a bike to fill petrol, attacked the pump employee with a sickle on Wednesday midnight. They also took away about ₹1.5 lakh in cash from him and robbed him. The petrol pump employee was injured in the brutal attack. The injured person has been identified as Parashuram Siddharth Dukate.

Parashuram Siddharth Dukate, who works at the Ganesh petrol pump in Wathar, had come to work on Tuesday night, while the manager Nilesh Kumar Taware and the owner of the pump, Rishikesh Gawde, were both at home. Around midnight on Tuesday, while Parashuram Siddharth Dukate was filling petrol at the pump, two unknown youths on a motorcycle came to fill petrol, and the boy sitting behind the motorcycle got off and even paid for the petrol. While the worker was putting the money in the bag, the assailant took out a sickle and attacked Dukate on both his hands and back. Meanwhile, they took the money bag and fled with ₹ 1,20,935 in cash.

After the injured Dukate informed the manager Nilesh Kumar Taware and the owner Rishikesh Gawde about the incident, Nilesh Kumar Taware filed a complaint at the Karad Rural Police Station. The Rural Police are investigating the matter further.
