A site supervisor of the MTNL (Mumbai Trans Harbour Link) construction filed a complaint regarding vehicle damage at the Atal Setu bridge. The Sewri police registered an FIR against Santosh Kumar Yadav, a dumper driver, under The Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and the Motor Vehicle Act on November 29.

According to the FIR, Pramav Kesarkar, 21, a resident of Sewri, works as a site construction supervisor at the MTNL bridge. On November 28, at 8 am, Kesarkar discovered a video in his official group that had been sent by Khalid, the night shift supervisor. The video, taken on the same day, showed a dumper truck (MH 47-BL8299) driving over the bridge at around 6.16 am. The dumper driver drove recklessly, collided with the view barriers, and damaged them before fleeing the scene. The MTNL staff later found that the barriers had been significantly damaged. A total of 11 barriers, stretching from Atal Setu Sewri to Navha Sheva, were damaged, causing a loss of Rs. 9 lakh. Each barrier measured 2.180 meters in length and 1.720 meters in width.

Kesarkar informed the supervisor, and they examined the damage. Kesarkar then approached the police, and the Sewri police registered the FIR under Section 3 (causing mischief to public property) of The Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, along with relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Motor Vehicle Act.
