New Delhi: Amidst the increase in tariff, not only the new orders received from the US have declined, but the current orders have also been postponed before it is implemented. This cautious approach is very important as the US is the largest export market for India. The financial year 2025 was exported to the United States worth $ 76.4 billion to the United States during April to February, which is about 20 percent of the country’s total exports.

Exporters said that orders from Western European countries have also been affected, as these countries will also face tension in the European Union with the US. The Indian exporters’ organization FIFO said that the order flow has stopped, as American buyers are waiting to eliminate uncertainty and the situation clear on the implementation of compensatory charges.

In such a situation, it has become difficult for many other countries including India to make a concrete strategy to deal with it.

It is not yet clear whether the burden of additional fees will be poured on consumers or the exporters/importers themselves will bear the burden. All these things are required to be considered and only then a decision will be taken. This consignment has been asked to stop at the moment.

The Confederation of the Indian Textile Industry said that some customers have currently asked to stop shipment. But there is no immediate threat to the order being reduced. The orders given earlier will be completed.
