A disturbing video showing a drunk man wearing a police uniform harassing a woman has gone viral on social media platforms. After information released by the police, it has been revealed that the man is a sub-inspector and the woman being manhandled is his wife. The sub-inspector has been suspended by the police department with immediate effect.
The incident occurred in Kasganj in Uttar Pradesh. The sub-inspector works with Kasganj Police. The video clip of the incident is being shared on social media platforms and has drawn angry reactions.
In the video, the sub-inspector can be seen touching his wife apparently without her consent. From the video, a viewer can make out that the disturbing incident took place at a bus stand.
The cop can be seen repeatedly touching the woman and trying to drag her towards him. It is amply clear from the video that she is uncomfortable and would want him to stop his inappropriate behaviour at a public place.
But the policeman doesn’t stop. At one point, he even looks at the camera giving an impression that he is aware of his behaviour being filmed. He doesn’t stop even then.
Kasganj Police on Wednesday released a video statement and announced that the sub-inspector was suspended with immediate effect pending further investigation and action.
Netizens reacted strongly on the video of the sub-inspector.
“He should be fired from the police force,” said a social media user on X.
“It is not enough to just suspend such policemen. They only get transferred somewhere and continue their lewd behaviour,” opined another.
Many expressed outrage saying that if a policeman was not scared of doing such a thing in public, its unimaginable what criminals would do.
