Pune: DPR For Shaniwarwada To Swargate And Sarasbaug To Shaniwarwada Subway To Be Prepared Soon |

In a good news for people staying in the central part of Pune, the traffic congestion issue in Kasba constituency is set to be resolved with the approval of a subway project.

A high-level meeting chaired by Public Works Minister Hon. Chhatrapati Shivendra Raje Bhosale has given the green light to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for two subways: one from Shaniwarwada to Swargate and another from Sarasbaug to Shaniwarwada.

The meeting was attended by various officials, including Kasba MLA Hemant rasane, Secretary of the Public Works Department Sanjay Dashpute, Sadashiv Salunkhe, Deputy Secretary Pragya Walke, BS Telang, Additional Secretary Prabhakar Lahane, Chief Engineer Atul Chavan, and Private Secretary Sudhakar Bhosale. Once the DPR is completed, the project will move forward.

These underground tunnels would provide a permanent solution to the growing traffic woes and enable quicker movement for commuters in the busy central areas of Pune.

Traffic congestion in the central areas of Pune is a major problem. However, to address the growing traffic issue in the central parts of the city and facilitate faster and more convenient travel for citizens, earlier this month, Kasaba MLA Hemant Rasane met with PWD Minister Shivendra Singh Raje Bhosle and suggested building two subways during the meeting: one from Sarasbaug to Shaniwarwada and one from Shaniwarwada to Swargate.

Key benefits of this subway project include:

A solution to traffic congestion, as flyovers aren’t feasible due to narrow roads and dense population.

Relief for areas with heavy traffic and dense markets.

Significant savings in time and fuel for the residents once the project is completed.
