Mumbai: Karan Johar has resumed the ‘Dostana 2’ project, but he is going to release the film not in theaters but directly on OTT.
Karan has given the role of Karthik to Vikrant Massey in the film. Vikrant is a very good actor but is not considered a star worth selling at the box office. Along with him, Lakshya Lalwani is also in an important role. Even his name is not enough to rock the box office. On the other hand, Janhvi Kapoor is also being replaced. If a new actress is replaced by her, then there will be no audience in the theater in her name. Therefore, Karan has persuaded an OTT company to release the film.
The film was earlier began with Karthik and Janhvi, but was closed after 20 days of shooting. Now many changes are being made keeping in mind the OTT in the new launched project. The film has also been directed to Advaita Chandan.
