Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo producer Naga Vamsi recently faced backlash on social media for allegedly ‘disrespecting’ veteran producer Boney Kapoor during a debate about Bollywood and South Cinema in a roundtable discussion with Galatta India. Now, he reacted to the backlash, stating that he did not ‘disrespect’ Boney.
A trade analyst, Sumit Kadel, claimed on X (formerly Twitter) slammed Naga Vamsi and said, “Disrespecting #BoneyKapoor ji was unnecessary, the same point could have been made respectfully. Many top South filmmakers and actors have openly expressed their admiration for Hindi cinema and acknowledged how legends like Amitabh Bachchan, Prakash Mehra, Yash Chopra, and Manmohan Desai inspired their commercial films.”
In response, the producer stated, “You don’t need to teach us how to respect elders, we respect boney ji more than u guys do and there was no disrespect towards boney ji in that conversation it was a healthy discussion, me and boney ji had a nice laugh and hugged each other after the interview… So please dont come to your conclusions with just what you saw.”
