A young dog was spotted stranded on a frozen lake in New Jersey this winter after it ran from its dog sitter. Named Brooklyn, the female doodle was found walking all alone on Lake Parsippany’s frozen surface, waiting for someone to rescue it.
Visuals from the lake have now surfaced online showing Brooklyn roaming on the icy surface and looking out for help. The footage also recorded its successful rescue by the police and a drone owner.

Police and Patel rescue dog from frozen lake
An Indian-origin man named Kishan Patel flew the drone over the skies of this lake in New Jersey to locate the doggy. Patel, a dog owner himself, managed to spot Brooklyn by flying his drone over the frozen lake and recording visuals of the site.
It was learned that Patel volunteered toward the rescue mission after the previous attempts by the authorities had failed. With empathy for Brooklyn’s pet parent, Patel flew his drone over the waterbody to spot and rescue the doggo.
He told the media that he stepped in to assist the cops in rescuing Brooklyn because, as a dog owner himself, he could imagine what Brooklyn’s owner must be going through.
Lure dog’s attention with chicken piece
Patel tried luring the attention of the stranded pet dog by dangling a piece of chicken through his drone and taking it in front of the animal. He guided the stranded dog towards the shore using the drone, facilitating the rescue.
On learning that he and his drone flying skills helped a dog and saved its life, he told news media, “I feel even more happy that the dog is safe and back home”.
