Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Divisional commissioner, Deepak Singh, has directed that spot fines should be slapped on people throwing garbage around airport area. Cleanliness campaigns should also be carried out regularly in Bijasan Tekri and Nanod Gram Panchayat areas.
Singh said this while addressing Airport Environment Management Committee meeting held under his chairmanship here at Devi Ahilybai Holkar International Airport on Thursday. Singh directed that compliance with cleanliness and environmental standards including security should be ensured compulsorily in the airport premises and periphery area.
He directed that cleanliness campaigns should be conducted regularly in Bijasan Tekri area and Nanod Gram Panchayat area. Shopkeepers in the area including the public should be made aware of cleanliness. CCTV cameras should be installed in the said area and continuous monitoring should also be done.
IMC commissioner Shivam Verma, IDA CEO Ram Prakash Ahirwar, ADM Roshan Rai, Airport Director VK Seth, Airport Safety Manager Sumit Kumar Tiwari, along with officials from BSF, PHE, PWD, Health and other departments were present in the meeting. Singh took stock of the environmental security arrangements made in the airport area.
He also reviewed security-related arrangements to be made on the airport premises and gave necessary instructions. He directed that as per the security standards of the airport and aircraft, there are buildings higher than the prescribed standards in the designated area due to which there is a problem regarding aircraft security.
Action should be taken to remove such construction. For this, a survey should be conducted by the team and such buildings should be marked. He also directed that no one should face unnecessary trouble for this.
