The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) Sports and Cultural Department organized the NMMC Cup 40+ Cricket Tournament from February 28 to March 2, 2025, at the Belapur ground. Conducted in collaboration with the 40+ Cricket Association, the tournament featured 57 teams, including 33 teams in the rural division and 24 in the urban division.

The tournament was inaugurated on February 28, 2025, by Maharashtra Minister of Forests, Shri Ganesh Naik. Matches were played in a knockout format over three days.

Rural Division Matches

In the semi-finals, Diva Koliwada 40+ faced Talvali 40+. Batting first, Diva Koliwada set a target of 39 runs in 4 overs. Their bowling attack then restricted Talvali to 36 runs, securing a 3-run victory and a place in the final.

In the other semi-final, Kharigaon 40+ played against Bonkode 40+. Bonkode batted first, scoring 44 runs in 4 overs, but Kharigaon successfully chased the target, winning by 7 wickets and advancing to the final.

The final match saw Diva Koliwada score 71 runs in 5 overs, while restricting Kharigaon to just 43 runs, claiming the rural division title with a 28-run victory.

Urban Division Matches

In the urban division semi-finals, United Plus, Airoli played against SD 11, Nerul. United Plus set a target of 25 runs in 4 overs, but SD 11, Nerul comfortably chased it down, winning by 7 wickets to enter the finals.

The final match between United Sports, Airoli and SD 11, Nerul saw United Sports put up an impressive 109 runs in 5 overs. Their bowlers then restricted SD 11, Nerul to 63 runs, securing a 46-run victory and emerging as the urban division champions.

Player of the Tournament – Premanand Keni (Diva Koliwada)

Best Batsman – Janardhan Kawale (Kharigaon)

Best Bowler – Sandeep Patil (Talvali)

Best Fielder – Somnath Patil (Bonkode)

Urban Division Winners

Player of the Tournament – Marko (United Sports, Airoli)

Best Batsman – Feroz Khan (SD 11, Nerul)

Best Bowler – Raju (United Plus, Airoli)

Best Fielder – Datta Mohite (United Plus, Airoli)

The winners were felicitated with trophies and awards by NMMC Deputy Commissioner (Sports & Cultural Department) Abhilasha Patil, along with dignitaries from the 40+ Cricket Association, including President Pradip Patil, Vice President Naresh Gauri, Treasurer Manoj Mhatre, Urban Vice President Suresh Ranaji, and Secretary Vikas Mokal.
