Disturbed Over Sexual Harassment, Minor Kills Self
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Disturbed over alleged harassment, a minor girl committed suicide by consuming poisonous substance in a village under Itkhedi police station area on Friday morning. The girl was admitted to Hamidia Hospital where she died while undergoing treatment on Saturday night.
The post-mortem has been performed but the statement of the girl’s parents is yet to be recorded. Further action will be taken after receiving a complaint in this connection, police officials said. As per reports, resident of a village under Itkhedi police station, a 14-year-old girl is a class 9 student.
Her parents claimed that the girl was returning from fields on Friday early morning when a youth in her neighbourhood molested her. The girl returned home and informed her mother about the incident. Disturbed over the incident, the girl consumed poisonous substance.
Her parents rushed her to a nearby hospital where the doctors referred her to Hamidia Hospital. The girl died while undergoing treatment late Saturday night.
SDOP Itkhedi Manju Chauhan said post-mortem report confirmed death due to poisoning. The statement of the girl’s parents will be recorded following which action will be ensured against the culprit, she added.
Loading Auto Overturns, Leaves Driver Dead
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): An auto driver was killed when his loading vehicle overturned hitting a road divider in Govindpura area on Saturday. The deceased’s kin claimed that he was trying to avoid a head-on collision with a bike when his auto overturned, said police, adding that a case has been registered in this connection.
As per reports, Pradeep Lodhi, a resident of Bag Mugalia, used to drive his own loading auto. On Saturday, Pradeep was heading for work when his auto overturned after hitting the road divider.
Pradeep received serious injuries in the mishap and was admitted to Hamidia hospital. Pradeep died while undergoing treatment on Sunday morning.
His kin claimed that Pradeep lost control on the vehicle in a bid to avoid collision with a bike coming from the wrong direction. Govindpura police help of CCTV footage will be taken to ascertain the reasons behind the mishap.
