Jodhpur, 23 November (HS). Chairman of District Consumer Commission Jodhpur II, Malar Khan Mangalia and member Balveer Khudkhudia, while accepting separate complaints filed by two advocates, provided relief and in one case, Indian Bank had to pay interest along with amount of Rs. 48 thousand from the savings account of the applicant by an unauthorized person. While a refund has been ordered, in the second case, Liebherr Appliances India has been directed to return the cost of the defective refrigerator worth Rs 59,500 along with interest. A compensation of Rs 5,000 each has also been imposed in both cases.

Sunil Bhandari filed a complaint saying that on receiving the message of withdrawal of Rs. 24,000 from his savings account from the Indian Bank on June 9 last year, he lodged a report in the cyber police station and also informed the bank that this amount was being transferred to some unauthorized person. Taken out by the person. On the instructions of the cyber police station, the bank held Rs 48 thousand and deposited it in the bank account of the complainant on June 27 and on June 30, this amount was reduced without informing him. The bank said that they had no fault in withdrawing the amount.

The District Consumer Commission, while accepting the complaint, said that despite the bank having the information, it neither told the complainant nor the police as to whose account the amount had gone into, hence the lack of service and service defects of the bank is proved.

In the second case, Vineet Dave filed a complaint saying that on July 8, 2022, he purchased a 472 liter refrigerator of Liebherr company for Rs 59 thousand 500, but during the warranty period itself, the fridge started smelling bad and the manufacturer company contacted him several times. Parts and even the compressor were replaced, but as the fridge was not working, they had to buy another fridge. The District Consumer Commission, while accepting the complaint, said that Liebherr Appliances India has indulged in unfair trade practice by selling the defective refrigerator to the complainant. Advocate .l Bhandari argued on behalf of both the complainants.
