Aurangabad: District Collector Dilip Swami Appeals For Awareness Against Sex Determination Tests |
Considering the declining rate of female population, district collector Dilip Swami has appealed that awareness should be created among the people against the sex determination tests in the district.
Swami said, the decreasing number of girls in the society is very harmful for the society. The girls are being killed in the womb. It is important that the birth rate of the girls should be increased in the district for which awareness is needed against the sex determination tests. The officers should implement the awareness drive effectively and felicitate those who gie confidential information about the sex determination texts. He was speaking during the meeting of the district level committee established for implementing the Preconception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act. District health officer Dr Abhay Dhanorkar, Dr Kishor Mahale, Dr Jagdish Vathar, Dr Manisha Bhondal, Manish Daudnd and other officers were present.
Swami further said, PCPNDT Act should be implemented effectively. The persons giving information about the sex determination tests should be encouraged. Their names should be keep confidential and they should be felicitated. The awareness should be created by announcing the prize amount declared by the government, he said.
Swami took the information of the Aids prevention and control committee, epidemic and schemes implemented for the pregnant women.
