The dispute over the vacant land located in front of the royal Jama Masjid in Sambhal district of UP is deepening. There is now a new twist in this case. A person named Prem Shankar of Kashyap Samaj, who lives near Jama Masjid, has claimed in the court that this land is actually from an ancient monastery, which was destroyed during communal riots. Prem Shankar has filed an application in the court and demanded that themselves be made a party in this case.

Police post construct on government land continues, claims of having waqf property dismissed

Satyavrat police post is being constructed on government land next to the land located in front of the Shahi Jama Masjid. Earlier, this land was being described as Waqf property, but during the investigation it turned out to be government. At the same time, the land next to the outpost is being described as the secretary of the royal Jama Masjid Committee, Mashhud Ali Farooqui and Armaan Azam, about which the case is going on in the court.

Prem Shankar’s claim: Earlier on the ground was ancient monastery

Amid this controversy, Kot Eastern resident Prem Shankar son Faggan Lal filed an application in the court of Civil Judge Sambhal claiming that there was an ancient monastery earlier on the disputed land. He says that there was also a foot -high platform in half of this land, but due to communal riots, it could not be taken care of.

Prem Shankar has alleged that some people are now trying to illegally occupy this land. He claimed that people claiming land want to grab it using fake documents. Prem Shankar also raised the question that if the plaintiff was the owner of this land since 2007, then why has he not done any construction there till now? He also alleged that the plaintiff is an influential land mafia and advocate, who wants to mislead the court and get an order in his favor.

Administration appealed to maintain peace

The decision of the court in this case will be very important. The administration has appealed to all the parties to maintain peace. The Kashyap Samaj has already put its demands before the administration on this land. In view of the increasing tension in the area, the administration has tightened the security system and the deployment of the police force has been increased.

Kashyap Samaj also claimed earlier

In the past, people of Kashyap community have claimed this land. On December 30, Gopal Kashyap, Meenu, Rajesh, Jagdish Kumar, Archana, Mangat, Mohit Kashyap, Shashank Kashyap and others asserted their rights as an ancient Devasthan. The people of the society said that there was a gooseberry tree here, which was specially worshiped. But during the 1978 riots, anti -social elements cut it and damaged the temple.

When the people of Kashyap society go to worship at this place, they are banished from there. Regarding this, the people of the society submitted a memorandum to ASP Srischandra demanding that this land be given back to their society and allowed to worship.

Administration response

District Magistrate of Sambhal, Dr. Rajendra Pansia said that a person of Kashyap Samaj has claimed to be a monastery on the vacant land located in front of the royal Jama Masjid and next to the police post. The matter is in the cognizance of the administration and it is under the court. Even before this, Kashyap Samaj had described this place as the place of Goddess. The administration clarified that the decision of the Hon’ble Court would be acceptable.

Now it has to be seen what decision the court gives on this dispute and what attitude the administration takes. Meanwhile, the administration has become alert in view of the increasing tension in the area and security system has been tightened.
