Popular television actress and Bigg Boss 12 winner Dipika Kakar, best known for playing the role of Simar in the hit daily soap Sasural Simar Ka, is all set to participate in celebrity cooking reality show Celebrity MasterChef. A promo of one of the episodes of the show was released by the makers recently in which Dipika is seen breaking down over trolling for being a ‘home cook.’ However, netizens harshly criticised her again, reminding her it’s a cooking show, not a TV drama.
The said promo begins with judge Ranveer Brar alerting Dipika about being short on time. Another judge Vikas Khanna then asks if she has a ‘Plan B’, to which Dipika confidently replies that she will complete her dish on time. She later presents a Crème Brûlée Tart to the judges.
Both the judges praise her dish and their compliments leave Dipika in tears. When Farah Khan asks her, “Dipika, ro kyun rahe ho itna?”, the actress replies, “Main aaj har uss lady ko represent karna chahti hoon jisse yeh kah kar dabaya jata hai, ‘Arey, kitchen mein sirf khana hi toh bana rahi hai.’ Haan, hoon mein ek home cook (I want to represent every woman today who is suppressed with the words, “Hey, she’s just cooking in the kitchen.” Yes, I am a home cook).”
Soon after the video surfaced, netizens brutally trolled Dipika. A user commented under the promo posted by the makers on X, “I’m sorry why are they making this show dramatic and emotional. Should’ve made it light hearted like Laughter Chefs.”
Another wrote, “She chose the life . Why complain now?”
“She is never leaving her Simar personality,” read another comment.
Another netizen commented, “You chose to be that way then why are you crying…This is ironic.”

Dipika had once revealed that as a child, she was affected by her parents’ broken marriage and how it changed her as a person until she grew up. Opening up about her decision to be a home maker and look after her family, she had said that it stems from her childhood where she has seen her parents getting divorced.
“I am not saying that my parents did not do their duties for me. They have always been there for me individually and I totally respect that. When they had to stand by me, they did it individually and aaj bhi main dono ke touch mein hoon and we share a very cordial relationship. Lekin, jab aap ek aise ghar mein bade hote ho as a child toh wo aapko ek different way mein hit karta hai aur wo koi kitna bhi keh le, wo ek aisa emotion hai, aisa phase hai jo har bachha differently accept karta hai. A child may get depressed, another may get aggressive, some may become an introvert, some may become extroverts. Main sehemi hui thi. Hence, even today, I do not make friends easily, I have a very few friends. When I work, I am cordial to everyone on sets but I allow a very few people in my inner circle.,” she told ETimes.
Meanwhile, Celebrity MasterChef also features Gaurav Khanna, Tejasswi Prakash, Abhijeet Sawant, Kabita Singh, Nikki Tamboli, Rajiv Adatia, Ayesha Jhulka, Archana Gautam, Faisal Shaikh aka Mr. Faisu, and Usha Nadkarni as contestants.
The premiere date of the reality show is yet to be announced by the makers.
