Lucknow: Samajwadi Party leader, Akhilesh Yadav and his wife MP Dimple Yadav are seen as a power couple in politics. Their videos in parliament often are shared widely on the internet. The couple is once again in news after Mainpuri MP Dimple Yadav made a witty remark at the party’s Mahila sanman samaaroh, an event to honor women achievers. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh reacted to Dimple’s remarks
Speaking at event, the Samajwadi Party leader said, “God must have created men first because mistakes happen the first time,” the crowd burst out in laughter and started clapping after her statement.
She further said, “There is still a gender difference in society, men’s dreams are more valuable in society. Women will have to come forward for women.”
Akhilesh Yadav Reacts
While addressing the program, responding to his wife, Akhilesh Yadav said, “Dimple started the debate on who came to earth first. Here debates start on anything.”
Taking a veiled dig at the Aurangzeb debate on mainstream TV channels, Akhilesh Yadav said, “People who watch TV must be lost in the history of 400-500 years ago.’
He further said, “Women have been respected in India since long, Kaliyug started after Lord Shri Krishna left the earth. There was a time when women did not have the right to vote, there was a time when women did not even have the right to education.”
“Change has come after independence. We cannot forget Savitribai Phule. Here I see that half population (women) is moving forward, “he added.
About The Event
The Women’s Honor Ceremony was organised on Sunday by the Women’s wing of the Samajwadi Party in the state’s capital Lucknow. In the event, the women who did excellent work in various fields were honored by the National President of the Women’s wing Juhi Singh.
