Mumbai Indians’ star opener Rohit Sharma’s DRS sparked a bit of controversy as he seemingly signalled for it after the clock had ran out during the IPL 2025 game against the Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur on Thursday. In a video surfaced on social media, the former Mumbai Indians skipper had taken the review after the DRS timer hit 0.

The incident occurred in the second over of the innings and the first sent down by left-arm seamer Fazalhaq Farooqi. Although the right-handed batter played a pull shot to get a boundary in the previous delivery, Farooqi trapped him lbw and the umpire hardly took any time to raise the dreaded finger. However, ball-tracking indicated that the ball had pitched outside leg, meaning the on-field umpire had to reverse his decision.
