In Indore, the festival of Holi was celebrated with great zeal and excitement. From as early as 7 AM on Friday, children enjoyed themselves with colours, while the youth attended DJ parties and Holi Milan events. Grand processions were held in various parts of the city, creating an electrifying atmosphere.

Vibrant Processions in City Streets
In areas like Rajwada, Malharganj, and Old Indore, the streets bustled with energy, and the joy of Holi was in full swing. Though Rang Panchami is traditionally celebrated with more grandeur, this year, the celebrations in Indore were vibrant, with magnificent processions making their way through the city. Hundreds of people came together to participate in the festivities at popular spots like Rajwada and Chappan Dukan.

A Special Celebration at Collector Ashish Singh’s Residence
Collector Ashish Singh also hosted a special Holi celebration at his bungalow. In addition to vibrant colours and gulaal, the venue was beautifully decorated with various festive elements, setting the stage for a grand celebration. Meanwhile, children in various colonies began their day early, throwing colour-filled balloons at passers-by from their rooftops. In several townships and colonies, group celebrations began by 9 AM, with social groups spreading colours throughout the city.

Holi Milan Ceremonies, Parades, and Rallies Across the City
A grand Holi festival took place with over 100 Holi Milan ceremonies scheduled across various colonies in Indore. Many of the city’s resorts were fully booked in advance for these events. Additionally, the township clubs made arrangements for Fag Festival and Holi Milan celebrations. In various parts of the city, traditional parades and rallies were organised, where people joyously played Holi in the traditional manner.

Tourists Join the Festivities at Nearby Tourist Spots
According to local travel agents, several groups from Indore travelled to nearby tourist spots to celebrate Holi. Maheshwar, Omkareshwar, Choral, Tikhsa Falls, Hanwantia, and Patalpani were among the most popular destinations. Resorts and hotels at these locations had advance bookings made from Indore, making them vibrant hubs for Holi celebrations outside the city as well.

Rang Rasiyaa 2025: A Vrindavan-Inspired Celebration
Held at Aanand Milan Garden, ‘Rang Rasiyaa 2025’ offered attendees an immersive experience reminiscent of Vrindavan’s divine Holi. The event featured organic colours, traditional competitions like Matkifod, and a variety of food stalls, encapsulating the essence of the festival.

Community Spirit and Traditional Parades
Beyond organised events, Indore’s streets came alive with traditional processions and community celebrations. Colonies and townships hosted Holi Milan ceremonies, fostering unity and joy among residents. The city’s commitment to preserving traditional customs ensured that the spirit of Holi remained vibrant and inclusive.

Looking Ahead
In Indore, Holi is not just a one-day festival but a five-day celebration culminating in Pancham Holi. This tradition dates back to the Maratha Holkars, who introduced the Marathi custom of Rangpanchami, where colours are joyfully played on the fifth day.
