Veteran actor Dharmendra visited the residence of late actor Manoj Kumar in Mumbai, who passed away at the age of 87 in the early hours of Friday (April 4) at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital due to heart-related complications. After paying his final respects, Dharmendra was seen making his way towards his car but struggled to proceed as he was mobbed by the paparazzi.

Seeing the paps surrounding him, he politely requested them to give him some space to get into his car. He was heard saying, “Mujhe gaadi mein baith jaane do, please bacche.” Dharmendra was also seen folding his hands, urging them to move aside.

The actor had worked with Manoj Kumar in the 1962 film Shaadi, which also starred Saira Banu in the lead role. The film was a remake of the Tamil movie Orey Vazhi.

Manoj Kumar was cremated with full state honours on Saturday in Mumbai. Family members and close friends gathered at his residence to bid a heartfelt farewell to the ‘Bharat Kumar’ of Indian cinema. His coffin was draped in the tricolour, a mark of respect for his immense contribution.

Several celebrities, including Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Prem Chopra, Vindu Dara Singh, Salim Khan, Arbaaz Khan, and Zayed Khan, among others, were seen at the crematorium ground in Juhu.

Meanwhile, Dharmendra recently underwent an eye surgery. On Tuesday, the 89-year-old actor was seen leaving a hospital in Mumbai with an eye bandage on his left eye. As the paparazzi captured the moment, the 89-year-old actor interacted with them and revealed, “I am strong.”

In the video, Dharmendra was heard saying, “Abhi bhi Dharmendra mein bohot dum hai. Abhi bhi jaan rakhta hoon. Meri aankh eye graft (corneal transplantation) ho gayi hai. I am strong.”

Dressed in a printed shirt, black trousers, and a black hat, he expressed gratitude to his fans, saying, “Love you, my audience and my fans.”
