Mumbai – Dhanush’s production house Wonderbar Films has decided to run a civil case against actress Nayantara and her husband Vignesh Shivan’s Netflix documentary, Nayantara: The Fairytail. The actor has demanded compensation of Rs 1 crore for the loss. The court has set a further hearing on the issue on 9 April.
Wonderbar Films said that Vignesh Shivan unnecessarily focused on Nayantara. To improve the film, scenes related to Nayantara were repeatedly filmed and other actors and crew were ignored.
In this case based on copyright violations, it has been alleged that the shooting scenes of Nanum Rowdy Dhan were used without permission in Netflix documentary.
It is noteworthy that Nayantara worked with Vijay Sethupati in the Tamil film Nanum Rowdy Dhan in 2015. Which was directed by Vignesh Shivan and the film was produced by Wonderbar Films, the banner of Dhanush. Nayantara wrote a letter to Dhanush in a strict words, as Dhanush refused to allow him to use the film’s footage for a documentary. After the release of this documentary, Dhanush filed a case against the production house against Nayantara, Vignesh Shivan and his production house Rowdy Pictures Private Limited and two other persons.
