Actor-choreographer Dhanashree Verma finally broke her silence on Wednesday night, days after reports of trouble in her marriage with Team India cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal surfaced online. She slammed people for questioning her character and sending all the hate across her way without bothering to verify the facts.

On Wednesday night, Dhanashree took to her Instagram stories to pen a strongly-worded note, which read, “The past few days have been incredibly tough for my family and me. What’s truly upsetting is the baseless writing, devoid of fact checking, and the character assassination of my reputation by faceless trolls spreading hate (sic).”

She went on to say, “I’ve worked hard for years to build my name and integrity. My silence is not a sign of weakness; but of strength. While negativity spreads easily online, it takes courage and compassion to uplift others.”

“I choose to focus on my truth and move forward, holding onto my values. The truth stands tall without the need for justification. Om Namah Shivaay,” she concluded.

Neither Dhanashree nor Chahal have confirmed the reports about their divorce yet. However, the two have unfollowed each other and have even deleted pictures with each other from their social media handles.

Dhanashree, who was one of the participants on the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11, had revealed how she met Chahal in one of the episodes. “During the lockdown, cricketers were frustrated with no matches happening. One day, Yuzi decided he wanted to learn dance after seeing my videos. He approached me, and I agreed to teach him,” she said.

Dhanashree and Chahal tied the knot in December 2020 in an intimate ceremony after a brief relationship.
