Mahakumbh 2025: Lakhs of devotees are gathering in Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Different unique forms of faith can be seen here. From Splendor Baba to IITian Baba became the subject of much discussion. Meanwhile, now ‘Kante Wala Baba’ is going viral on the internet. His name is Ramesh Kumar Manjhi and due to his unique approach towards Sadhana, he has become the center of attraction in Mahakumbh.
Sadhana is done on a bed of thorns
This Baba does Sadhana only on a bed of thorns and that is why he has been named ‘Baba of Thorns’. He has been doing this type of sadhana every year for the last 50 years and says, ‘This thorn does not harm him. I serve the Guru. Guru gave us knowledge and blessings. Now let all give glory to God, who helps to do this. I have been doing this for the last 40 to 50 years.
According to Baba, he also visits Ujjain, Haridwar, Nashik and Gangasagar and takes advantage of sleeping on a bed of thorns. Regarding this, Baba further said, ‘I do this because it benefits me physically. It doesn’t bother me. I get a thousand rupees a day. ‘I will donate half of the dakshina I receive on Janmashtami and will spend the rest on my expenses.’
Saints came from abroad
Meanwhile, a delegation of 21 members from 10 countries reached Arail Tent City in Prayagraj on Wednesday evening. The delegation will take a holy bath at the Sangam bank today. The group includes representatives from Fiji, Finland, Guyana, Malaysia, Mauritius, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Trinidad and Tobago and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). During their visit, the delegation will also participate in a heritage walk to explore the rich cultural and historical heritage of Prayagraj. The Mahakumbh Mela, which started from January 13, will continue till February 26.
