Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Morena city and its surrounding areas woke up to thick fog and shivering cold on Friday. The dense fog has affected visibility impacting daily life of the residents. Many people are seen sitting around bonfires on roadside. Cars and trucks were moving slowly on the highway because of poor visibility.
The temperature shot up by to 18 Degree Celsius on Thursday because of sunlight. The minimum temperature was eight degrees Celsius. The roads in the city wore a deserted look because of severe cold. Shopkeepers put up their shutters because the number of buyers was few. Auto drivers had to wait for passengers through the morning. Children going to school were also shivering because of severe cold.
Most of the parents dropped children at schools. Fog continued till 10am. Just as the fog drifted was and the sun shone large number of people were see basking in sunlight.
According to the weather office, foggy weather will continue for another week and day temperature is set to increase. According to a scientist in regional Agricultural Research Centre Sandeep Singh Tomar, the maximum temperature may reach 22 degrees Celsius. There will be fog late in the night and in the morning, he said.
Satna under thick fog
Thick fog was observed in Satna city and its surrounding areas on Friday. Vehicle drivers had to use fog lights. Farmers have been advised to sprinkle pesticide on crops.
After sunlight throughout the day, the night temperature was recorded at 7.5 degrees Celsius, but the day temperature was 10 degrees Celsius on Friday. There will be heavy fog in the next 48 hours. Because of fog, there are chances of insects destroying gram and pea crops. Farmers have been advised to use pesticide.
