Transparency International on Tuesday released the corruption perception index (CPI) 2024 rankings. CPI ranks the most corrupt and most honest countries around the world.

To prepare this list, CPI has ranked 180 countries and regions based on the level of corruption in the public sector. According to this index, Denmark ranks first in honesty for the seventh consecutive year, while Sudan ranks the most corrupt country i.e. 180th. Denmark finished first with 90 points, while Sudan stood at the 180th position with only eight points. It is worth noting that in this list, each country has been given marks between 0 and 100. The country with the highest number of marks is declared the most honest, and the lowest scorer is declared the most corrupt. Talking about India and its neighboring country Pakistan on this front, India is ranked 96th with 38 points while Pakistan is at 135th position with only 27 points. According to the CPI report, the level of global corruption is worryingly high. The report has highlighted serious corruption worldwide. The score of more than two -thirds of countries is less than 50 out of 100. About 6.8 billion people live in countries whose CPI score is less than 50, and this population is equal to 85 percent of the world’s total population. Denmark may top the ranking, but he was able to score only 90 points out of 100. Finland finished second with 88 points and Singapore finished third with 84 points.
